Port Canaveral set a new record in fiscal 2025 with 8.6 million multi-day passenger movements, marking a 13% increase compared to the previous year. The port expects to reach 9 million multi-day passenger movements in fiscal 2026.
During fiscal 2025, which ended in September, Port Canaveral welcomed 1,038 cruise ship calls. In April, the port celebrated a historic milestone of 100 million passenger movements since the Scandinavian Sea began sailing from Canaveral in 1982.
CEO Capt. John Murray reported total revenues of $218 million for 2025. The cruise sector generated $182 million, cargo operations brought in $25 million, and non-ship-related activities contributed $11 million.
The port remains a major economic driver for Central Florida. Approximately 27% of cruise passengers stay overnight in local hotels, resulting in about 2.3 million room nights annually in Brevard County. Nearby Cape Canaveral has seen a 200% increase in new hotel construction over the last ten years.
"We have an increasing responsibility to drive economic value in our region. Our growth is boosting the local economy with increased business investments in Port District communities that are creating new jobs and a growing tax base of revenues for local municipalities,” said Capt. John Murray.
The port anticipates strong performance in the coming year, projecting revenues to rise to $237 million.
