Parents Warned Over Baby Booster Seat Toy Tray Recall

John Lewis has recalled the Maxi-Cosi Jay Plus Booster Seat toy tray due to a choking hazard. The removable toy tray includes an arch with a tree and three acorns designed for infants to play with, but it can break easily and does not comply with toy safety standards.

Choking Risk and Safety Concerns

The Office for Product Safety and Standards warns that the wire holding the acorns may detach, leaving small parts that pose a choking danger for babies, especially those under 36 months, who tend to put objects in their mouths.

These small parts pose a choking hazard to young children, particularly those under 36 months of age who have a natural tendency to explore objects by placing them in their mouths.

Product Details and Recall Information

A John Lewis spokesperson stated:

Maxi-Cosi are recalling the above product due to a potential issue with one of the toys; a tree with a wire and three acorns. In rare cases, the wire may break, releasing the acorns. This means there is a potential risk of choking.

Customer Action

Consumers who purchased the product between 1 July and 23 October 2025 are advised to stop using the toy tray immediately to avoid any risk.

Summary: John Lewis has recalled the Maxi-Cosi Jay Plus Booster Seat toy tray due to a choking hazard from detachable small parts, urging immediate discontinuation of its use by parents.
