Fostering Communication, Public Engagement and Trust in the Nuclear Sector
The NEA High-Level Group on Stakeholder Engagement, Trust, Transparency, and Social Sciences (HLG-SET) convened in Paris last month to review ongoing activities supporting communication, public engagement, and trust-building to guide high-level policy decisions.
Delegates discussed progress in three primary areas:
- Developing tools to assess public perception and its influencing factors
- Compiling best practices and lessons learned on engagement, trust, and transparency
- Strategic planning aligned with the group's mission
The meeting took place alongside the NEA Fourth Stakeholder Involvement Workshop, co-organized by the Committee on Radiological Protection and Public Health (CRPPH) Extended Programme Committee and HLG-SET.
Case studies presented at the workshop illustrated practical approaches to achieving meaningful engagement with diverse stakeholders, fostering trust through transparency.
