Musetti currently ranks ninth in the race to qualify for the eight-player ATP Finals starting Monday in Italy. He must win this tournament to surpass Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime in the standings.

He dominated the first set, losing only five points. In the second, Musetti broke in the seventh game but Korda immediately broke back and then secured the set by breaking to love in the 12th game.

Korda held a break point and a match point in the 10th game of the final set.
Musetti escaped by winning a long rally, luring Korda to the net with a drop shot then finishing with a lob.
The Italian then broke immediately, saved a break point on his next serve, and broke Korda once more to claim victory after two hours and 20 minutes.

"I think we both played a fantastic match," Musetti said. "The level was getting higher and the adrenaline was intense. Achieving the final here is really important and I am already focusing on tomorrow."
