Ant McPartlin, one half of the presenting duo Ant and Dec on I'm A Celebrity, has left his £6 million Wimbledon home following a conflict with neighbours over tree removal.
Ant and his wife, Anne-Marie, lived in the property for six years since 2019. The couple invested heavily in refurbishments, spending thousands on additions such as a swimming pool and two single-storey extensions. The seven-bedroom house includes five reception rooms, a cinema, sunroom, walk-in wardrobe, study, office, a large kitchen, and Victorian-style changing rooms by the pool.
In early 2024, plans to renovate further required permission to remove four cypress trees, a pine, and a yew tree, all protected by a Tree Preservation Order. Although permission was granted, neighbours expressed strong opposition.
"No justification is given for felling these substantial trees, other than the applicant's wish to allow re-landscaping of part of their garden."
The tree removal plans reportedly sparked anger among neighbours, leading to numerous objection letters and escalating tensions that contributed to the McPartlins’ decision to move out.
The high-value renovations and the controversy over protected tree removal caused a serious dispute with neighbours, prompting Ant McPartlin and his wife to leave their Wimbledon home.
"Neighbours accused the couple of cutting down healthy trees for 'no justification.'"
Ant and Anne-Marie’s departure marks the end of a six-year chapter disrupted by community disagreement.
