Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou, 37, who collaborated with actor Jeremy Renner, 54, on a documentary and an animated project, has accused him of inappropriate behavior during their work together.
According to Zhou, Renner sent her intimate photos and pornographic videos as part of an attempt to pursue a romantic relationship with her. She shared these claims publicly on Instagram earlier this week.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Zhou recounted an incident that occurred during a meeting at Renner’s home, where he allegedly became drunk and aggressive.
"I was discussing the documentary logistics, then he drank a bottle of wine alone and got angry, yelling for two hours," Zhou said. "I had to share my location with my team, my parents, and Disney colleagues in case something happened to me."
"I locked myself in a room for safety, praying he would not enter during the night. I didn’t say a word — I was terrified for my life," she added.
Zhou also alleged that after their falling out, Renner threatened to contact immigration authorities (ICE), leaving her further distressed and fearful.
Zhou alleges Jeremy Renner harassed her with explicit messages, drunken aggression, and threats, which left her fearing for her safety during their professional collaboration.
