Electronic Arts will permanently close online services for four of its older racing titles within the next 24 hours. This decision continues the company’s recent trend of winding down support for legacy games.
Developed by Codemasters and released between 2011 and 2014 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, these games will lose all online functionality effective November 8.
In October, Need for Speed: Rivals also saw its online services shut down, setting the stage for this latest round of terminations.
“As of tomorrow, November 8th, EA will be ending all of its online components for four different racing games.”
According to reports, two more titles may soon join the list, though EA has not yet made an official announcement regarding them.
While the single-player modes will remain intact, multiplayer functionality will no longer be available. For many fans, this closure marks the end of an era for Codemasters’ beloved racing series.
