Definition of Care Leaver and Care Experienced

A Care Leaver is a young person who has been in Local Authority Care for at least 13 weeks since the age of 14 and were in Local Authority Care at School leaving age or after.

Someone who is Care Experienced may have spent some time in Local Authority Care, or may have spent time in Kinship or Family Placement or other informal care setting.
