Simu Liu is set to return as Shang-Chi in Avengers: Doomsday, which is slated for release on December 18, 2026. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film brings together a wide array of Marvel Cinematic Universe stars.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Liu spoke about the excitement of working alongside many iconic Marvel actors he once admired.
“There are just so many actors in it, and getting to work with those people as peers is really incredible because I grew up watching so many of them,”
Among the confirmed cast members are Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova.
“It feels, in a lot of ways, like a love letter to the entire genre of superhero movies. And I think there’s something really fun about that,”
Liu described the film as a heartfelt celebration of what superhero stories represent for fans everywhere.
“It’s for all the misfits, weirdos, and underdogs who grew up reading comic books and believed there was hope for them — that they didn’t have to fit in,”
