Actor Channing Tatum, who portrays Gambit, is still in awe of what was accomplished during the making of Avengers: Doomsday. With much of the film kept secret, Tatum appears determined to raise excitement for what might be the biggest Marvel movie yet.
"Look, everyone in the world is going to see this movie," Tatum told Deadline. "It's hard to say this because, I mean, you hear these things and go, 'Of course.' But they've topped themselves every time. This will be the biggest movie of next year and maybe even the next 10 years."
Tatum explained that his enthusiasm began after reading the initial script and later witnessing its realization on set. Though he avoided plot spoilers, he hinted that Marvel fans will be amazed by the film’s ambition and scope.
"The scope of it, what they're trying to do… what the Russos have cooked up – when I read it, I was just like, 'How are they going to do this?'. It was an Everest of a mountain to climb. I am still in awe," Tatum said.
Even though Gambit won’t just stand on the sidelines, Tatum mentioned he suffered a hamstring injury while filming one intense scene. Nevertheless, he teased that the X-Men will play an active role in the battle to come.
"I do so much action in this movie, but that was just a small part," Tatum recalled.
Channing Tatum calls Avengers: Doomsday a groundbreaking Marvel event, praising its scope, action, and ambition as the potential biggest hit of the next decade.
