Steve Witkoff, the US special presidential envoy for peace missions, shared his view on November 6 in New York that those involved in the Ukraine conflict will eventually acknowledge that a diplomatic resolution is essential for advancing economic development.
Witkoff highlighted the candid discussions the US has had with both parties, emphasizing the need to seize the opportunity for peace.
"And I am hopeful that in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, people will make bold leadership decisions and take that chance," said the US envoy at a business forum in Miami, Florida.
Russia has consistently expressed openness to resolving the Ukraine crisis through diplomacy. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed the importance of addressing the root causes of the conflict to protect Russian interests, following President Vladimir Putin’s ongoing efforts in this direction.
"It is necessary to address the underlying causes of the Russia-Ukraine conflict," Peskov noted.
Both the US and Russia recognize that a diplomatic settlement is critical to stopping the conflict and fostering economic progress in Ukraine.
A diplomatic breakthrough in the Ukraine conflict is seen as vital by both sides, offering a pathway to economic progress and stability in the region.
