BOSTON — Just 10 days ago, the Boston Bruins suffered a heavy 7-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators, extending a losing streak that threatened to ruin their season. However, when the teams met again Thursday at TD Garden, the Bruins showed a marked improvement, winning 3-2 in overtime to secure their fifth consecutive victory.
“It was big motivation for us,” Pavel Zacha said. “We lost a game there and lost pretty badly. Before the game, we were motivated to give it back, and I’m happy that we won.”
Zacha scored the game-winning goal with only 5.6 seconds left in overtime. After Charlie McAvoy maneuvered around the attacking zone, he sent a shot on net that Zacha deflected for his fourth goal of the season.
