A viral video circulating online claims to depict the NEOM Stadium, a venue supposedly being built as part of Saudi Arabia’s massive NEOM project, positioned atop a skyscraper. In truth, the images come from artificial intelligence and have no official connection to the real project.
Since late October, the spectacular visuals of a futuristic stadium have gained attention on social media platforms. Many users suggested that they represented The Line’s proposed stadium – the futuristic linear city within NEOM.
On October 26, Rwandan user Edwin Musoni shared the video on X, attracting around 3.5 million views. The clip depicted a football arena seemingly placed 1,150 feet (350 meters) above ground level. Users quickly took it as a preview of an actual component of NEOM’s construction plans.
After reviewing NEOM’s official social media accounts on X and Instagram, no such video or image of a stadium suspended at that height was found. The only authentic material available, published last December, features the official NEOM Stadium design, which is also set to be built 350 meters above the ground – but not on a skyscraper.
“These AI-generated images, created by an online user, do not reflect the official project.”
The viral images of a skyscraper-top NEOM Stadium are AI creations and bear no connection to the real NEOM project, which includes a confirmed stadium plan but not in that form.
Author’s summary: The supposed NEOM sky stadium images are AI-generated fabrications, misleadingly shared as real visuals of Saudi Arabia’s future megaproject.
