One year after her mother Janey Godley's death, Ashley Storrie expressed her feelings in a heartfelt Instagram post. She reflected on the difficult year since losing the comedian and revealed how much she misses her.
“It’s been a hard year. I tried to do what she asked of me. I tried to be good and nice and be the woman my mum wanted. I failed on several fronts but I tried. And some people picked at that weakness, smugly delighting in my failure to be that woman and some people helped hold me together when it felt like I was flying apart into atoms and nothing else.”
Janey Godley died last year at 63 after a prolonged fight with ovarian cancer. She was candid about her illness and openly shared many moments of her experience with her audience online.
