Hebridean Distillery Secures £1.5 Million Funding

The Benbecula Distillery has secured a £1.5m investment from the British Business Bank’s Investment Fund for Scotland.

The funding will be used to scale up production, support the whisky maturation process, and expand headcount. The distillery, led by founder Angus MacMillan and managing director Hector MacLeod, began production last spring and opened its visitor centre and café this April.

Master distiller Brendan McCarron oversees the distilling process, bringing experience from senior roles with Moët Hennessy and Distell, as well as the creation of whiskies for notable brands.
