Homes of Heroes project seeks stories of Paris, Ont. veterans ahead of Remembrance Day

Homes of Heroes Project Collects Stories of Paris Veterans

As Remembrance Day approaches, a group of residents in Paris, Ontario, is gathering stories about hometown veterans and active service members. The project, named Homes of Heroes, seeks to honor their military contributions, educate younger generations about the sacrifices of war, and acknowledge the efforts of Paris Branch 29 of the Royal Canadian Legion.

“It’s getting late to hear some of these stories and so I thought they should probably be written down and made public so they don’t get lost entirely,” said Neil Edwards to The Hamilton Spectator.

Project Founders and Goals

Neil Edwards, a former Paris high school teacher, teamed up with veterans Chuck Prystupa and Mark Ford, along with local historian Steve Pinkett, to launch the initiative. Together, they aim to create a map of local veterans and share personal insights into their lives beyond military service.
