A United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket launch planned from Cape Canaveral could be visible across much of Florida, weather permitting. Residents and visitors in cities like West Palm Beach, Mar-a-Lago, Jacksonville, Cape Coral, and Miami may witness the rocket lighting up the sky after liftoff.
The Atlas V rocket’s launch window opened at 10:24 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5. However, the launch was scrubbed before 11 p.m., and a new time and date for launch have been announced.
ULA provided a visibility map showing the rocket’s trajectory and flight path. Depending on weather and cloud conditions, most of Florida could see the launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
The Atlas V is carrying the ViaSat-3 Flight 2 (F2), an “ultra-high-capacity broadband spacecraft” for Viasat. This satellite is expected to significantly boost Viasat’s global communication network capabilities.
The rocket will be propelled off the launch pad by five solid rocket boosters, promising an impressive visual display for those watching from the ground.
