China-Laos International Passenger Rail Line Launched
A new international passenger rail line began trial operations on Monday, connecting Mohan Railway Station in Mengla County, Yunnan Province, China, with Boten Railway Station in Laos. This is the first commuter-style international passenger rail link between the two countries.
Service Details
- The line offers five round-trips daily in each direction.
- The journey covers 16 kilometers and takes approximately 50 minutes.
- Trains stop at both countries’ border ports for passenger boarding and customs clearance.
Operator’s Commitment
Xia Mo, deputy general manager of Yunnan Tourism Co Ltd, the operator of the line, said the company will uphold the philosophy of “safety, professionalism, and dedication” to ensure travelers experience “the convenience and warmth of this road of friendship.”
