Prince George Courthouse Murderer Sentencing
A Crown prosecutor has recommended a 12-year jail sentence without parole for Charlene Jane Alexander, convicted of second-degree murder.
Alexander fatally stabbed 26-year-old Jessie Mae Hayward-Lines outside the Prince George courthouse on July 2, 2020.
“bullying to the extreme”
Tyler Bowman described the case as one of “bullying to the extreme” and stated that Alexander carried out a “purposeful and brutal act of violence” against Hayward-Lines, a gentle newcomer.
- Hayward-Lines was a vulnerable person who had done nothing to provoke the attack.
- She was prone to acting outlandishly, but was otherwise gentle and tended to direct anger at herself.
Alexander’s sentencing hearing was attended by loved ones of the victim, who expressed their grief and outpouring of emotions.
