Landslide Death Toll Rises in Uganda and Kenya
More than 40 people have died after multiple landslides struck Kenya and Uganda's mountainous border region.
I lost a grandmother, a maternal aunt, an uncle, two sisters, a family friend, and a cousin. They were staying together in Kaptul village.
Felix Kemboi, a 30-year-old who lost six relatives, is struggling to come to terms with the tragedy. Many people are still missing, and search and rescue teams have been deployed to find them.
According to Kenyan Interior Minister Kipchumba Murkomen, the risk of further landslides is high due to heavy rainfall in the region.
