According to a report by The Nation Newspaper, Chad has shut its border with Nigeria due to security concerns.
A counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, stated that Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno ordered a complete military lockdown along the Nigerian border.
"No armed group or foreign force will be allowed to enter Chadian soil under any disguise."
Makama cited military sources in N'Djamena, indicating that the Chadian Army has been placed on red alert, with troops and armored vehicles deployed across key border corridors linking the two countries.
This move is reportedly in response to intelligence suggesting that terrorist elements from Northern Nigeria were preparing to flee into Chad.
