Lawrence Man Pleads No Contest in 2021 Stabbing Homicide

A Lawrence man, Robert Earl Davis, 58, has pleaded no contest to two charges related to the 2021 stabbing homicide outside a Dillons store.

Davis appeared in court before Douglas County District Judge Sally Pokorny on counts of voluntary manslaughter and animal cruelty, stemming from the January 18, 2021 incident involving Daniel Evan Brooks, 66.

Brooks was killed in the attack.

Davis was convicted on Friday.
