Report on Waterford's Public Lighting Network

A report on Waterford's public lighting network is expected to be complete by early next year, according to Director of Roads Gabriel Hynes.

Mr. Hynes stated that the review aims to determine the necessary upgrades for the problematic underground network. He mentioned that the report is being prepared and hopes to have it by the end of the year or early next year.

"That will identify what resources we need to get our underground network up to an acceptable standard,”

Mr. Hynes was responding to a query from Cllr Thomas Phelan, who noted that the lights on lower Main Street, Friar Street, and Scanlon’s Yard in Dungarvan have been fixed. Additionally, Mr. Hynes said that there isn't an unreasonable amount of lights out across the county.

Waterford City County Council is preparing the review to address public lighting issues in the county.

Author's summary: Waterford's public lighting report expected soon.
