The City of Eden Prairie is on track to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 as part of its Climate Action Plan.
According to city officials, the city is making progress towards meeting its sustainability goals, with a 33% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions since 2007 and a 3% decrease from 2022.
Jen Fierce, the city's sustainability coordinator, presented data on emissions from three categories: electricity, natural gas, and travel and waste. The data shows a significant decrease in emissions from electricity, down 64%.
