The Fiji Law Society President, Wylie Clarke, states that there is a constant struggle to uphold and respect the law in Fiji, which starts from the top.

Clarke expressed this view at the Fiji Law Society Convention 2025, held in partnership with the Pasefika Lawyers Collective at the Crowne Plaza, Nadi.
He noted that public trust in social bodies and the State is often undermined by examples where leaders seem to disregard the rule of law, citing instances such as the suspension or dismissal of public officers, appointments, and decision-making processes.
