Professors Criticize Trump Compact at Town Hall
Professors from East Coast universities urged institutions to reject President Donald Trump's contract, which offers "multiple positive benefits" to schools that meet his political demands.
The call to action was made at a town hall event held by the New York Metro Coalition for Higher Education at NYU's Cantor Film Center, attended by over 100 students and faculty, including members from NYU, Columbia University, and Harvard University.
Speakers emphasized that while many universities have withstood demands from the Trump administration so far, more aggressive action is needed to ensure academic freedom.
The event was hosted by the American Association of University Professors and featured five panelists addressing the audience.
