Monitoring Crops for Barley Scald Disease
It is crucial for growers to continue monitoring their crops for barley scald disease as harvest approaches.
That was the advice from Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) plant pathologist Geoff Thomas on last week's PestFacts WA webinar.
Geoff Thomas noted that barley scald had been a prevalent disease in barley crops during season 2025, with some popular varieties being susceptible in certain regions.
- Maximus and Spartacus were among the varieties affected by new forms of scald in the past year.
