Freshly minted world champion Matthew Hauser will headline the event after winning gold in the series final in Wollongong, ending Australia's 15-year world championship drought.
- Hauser will participate in a 1.5km swim, 40km cycle, and 10km victory lap at the 42nd Noosa staging.
- Gentle, a 34-year-old who has won 11 of the past 12 Noosa Triathlons, will not attend due to a scheduling conflict after switching to middle-distance racing.
Australia's 15-year world championship drought has ended with Hauser's win.
