Mirriam Ntambo Speaks Out Against Sexual Harassment
Media personality Mirriam Ntambo has broken her silence on sexual harassment in the media industry in Malawi.
In a Facebook post titled “When Women Protect Predators: My Story of Harassment and Silence in Malawi’s Media Industry”, Ntambo shared her experience of being harassed and punished for speaking out while working at Times Group.
“When I was at Times Group, I was once called in for a hearing. The email summoning me was sent by another woman — a fellow lady I had considered a colleague,”
She wrote that the hearing was because she had apparently taken a picture and video in the studio, something ‘not allowed’. Ntambo's ordeal began after she reported a sexual harassment case against a senior manager.
