Tariffs Shake Canadian Produce Supply Chain

The Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) held its board of directors' semi-annual meeting in Austin, TX, from September 17-20, to facilitate collaboration between members and US produce sector players.

According to Ron Lemaire, president of CPMA, the recent tariff turmoil has caused a significant rift across the North American supply chain, overshadowing other issues such as fuel, labor, and preparations for the USMCA review in 2026.

A substantial disruption threatens the position of the two countries and Mexico, as a trading bloc that can contend with other international players.

Author's summary: Tariffs disrupt Canadian produce supply chain.
