Edwards suffered the injury in a victory over Indiana, where he played only three minutes and scored five points.
He will miss Minnesota's games against Denver, the Los Angeles Lakers, and Charlotte.
The Timberwolves are off to a 2-1 start to the 2025-26 campaign.
