Cornwall invites Via Rail representatives to address council

Cornwall Council to Meet with Via Rail Representatives

Cornwall city council has invited Via Rail representatives to address the council regarding a pilot project that was put on hold due to backlash.

The council has agreed to advocate against potential Via Rail cuts and operational changes, and Mayor Justin Towndale will initiate a meeting with the president and CEO of the company.

"You would have been better off talking to a wall,"

said Claude McIntosh, recalling a previous meeting with Via Rail representatives seven years ago, where they showed no interest in the city's concerns.

Councilor McIntosh noted that this meeting would be the second in seven years, with the first being unproductive.
