Galamsey Fight: Government Making Progress
The Minister of State in charge of Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, asserts that the government is recording significant gains in the fight against illegal mining (galamsey).
Speaking in an interview in Parliament, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu dismissed suggestions that rising turbidity levels in water bodies alone are enough to conclude that the fight against illegal mining has failed.
Turbidity is only one of several indicators used to assess progress in the galamsey fight.
He challenged critics to provide evidence to back their assertions that the situation has worsened under the current government.
