Teacher Development Officers to Withdraw from Academic Activities
The All-Island School Teacher Development Officers' Association has announced that its members will withdraw from academic activities starting next Monday, October 27.
According to the Association's Secretary, Viraj Manaranga, Teacher Development Officers have been excluded from the current teacher training programs under the education reform proposals, despite having served as teachers for over six years.
They have not received an invitation to the training programs, unlike in the past when they were included.
Manaranga expressed disappointment that the officers, who have contributed significantly to the achievements of school children, have been neglected.
The decision to withdraw from academic activities is a response to this perceived neglect.
