Willa Pearson, at 14 years and 312 days old, made her debut for Sydney FC in the opening round of the 2025-26 season, becoming the youngest player ever in Ninja A-League history.
Selected to start against the reigning premiers, Pearson was positioned in Sydney's defense. Her first task was a one-on-one challenge with CommBank Matildas star Holly McNamara during a thrilling 2-2 draw at Leichhardt Oval.
"Thank you to everybody who believed in me, who gave me this opportunity," Pearson said in her post-game interview with Network 10.
Her maturity on and off the field showed she is ready for the high demands of professional football despite her young age.
