New EuroNight Train Connecting Switzerland and Scandinavia

Tickets for the new EuroNight service are expected to go on sale starting 4 November. This proposed night train will link Switzerland, Denmark, and Sweden directly, pending approval from the Swiss Parliament.

Service Schedule and Route

Once approved, the train will operate three times weekly, beginning mid-April 2026. Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) revealed the route from Basel to Copenhagen and Malmö.

Stops Along the Route

The train covers about 1,400 kilometers, stopping in Germany at Freiburg (Breisgau), Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Frankfurt (Main) Süd, and Hamburg. In Denmark, stops include Padborg, Kolding, Odense, Høje Taastrup, and Copenhagen Airport.

Environmental Impact and Demand

A spokesperson for SBB said the service is “making climate-friendly travel to Northern Europe even more accessible” and “meets the growing demand for sustainable, cross-border mobility.”

This new night train will enhance eco-friendly travel options between Central Europe and Scandinavia, supporting sustainable transport growth across borders.
