Sony Pictures has officially confirmed the casting for "The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event." The project will feature Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood, and Mia McKenna-Bruce portraying the wives of the legendary band members.
Each of these women was married to one of the Beatles during the height of the group’s fame in the 1960s. Their stories will be told across four interconnected films, directed by Sam Mendes.
“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right — and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,” said director Sam Mendes.
The quartet of films will provide individual perspectives of each band member — John Lennon (Harris Dickenson), Paul McCartney (Paul Mescal), George Harrison (Joseph Quinn), and Ringo Starr (Barry Keoghan). The narrative will follow their journey from Liverpool newcomers in the early 1960s to worldwide fame and their eventual breakup in 1970.
This marks the first occasion when The Beatles and their estates have granted full rights to their music and personal stories for a theatrical feature adaptation.
Linda McCartney, born Linda Eastman, first met Paul McCartney in 1967 while she was working as a professional photographer.
