The Sacramento Kings are considering signing free agent center Precious Achiuwa, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.
The Kings face challenges due to their lack of size. General manager Scott Perry is reportedly working on solutions to improve the team's frontcourt.
Precious Achiuwa, 26, is a veteran big man who played for the New York Knicks during the 2024-25 season. Known for his rebounding ability, Achiuwa fits Sacramento’s need for stronger boards. The Kings currently rank last in the NBA for rebounds per game (37.5), especially without starting forward Keegan Murray, who is recovering from wrist surgery.
Adding Achiuwa would require a roster move since Sacramento already has 15 players on standard contracts. Several players could be waived or traded to make space, including second-year forward Issac Jones (non-guaranteed contract), forward Dario Saric, and wing Doug McDermott.
Russell Westbrook’s deal this season is not fully guaranteed, but he has performed well early in his Kings career.

The Kings aim to bolster their rebounding and interior presence by potentially signing free agent Precious Achiuwa, which would necessitate strategic roster adjustments.
